Beyond the Barrier

The Brief

derma aesthetics, the parent company behind dermaviduals, dermaviduals deco, EXCEED, SIMKA and MTS-Rollers, set out to bring its community of clinic partners, therapists and industry advocates together for Beyond the Barrier, a premier one-day conference blending advanced corneotherapy science with business growth. On Purpose Events was engaged to deliver the day end-to-end at Sydney’s W Hotel, designing a program that moved between skin science and entrepreneurial strategy before closing with an Awards Dinner celebrating standout clinics and partners.

Where Science Meets Practice

The day’s program was deliberately built across two registers. Mornings centred on skin science and clinical education, with sessions on advanced skin barrier science and corneotherapy innovations from derma aesthetics’ International Education Team, alongside holistic, demonstration-led content. From there, the program shifted into progressive business sessions and panel discussions on raising a professional profile, scaling a clinic and growing with confidence, featuring guest speakers and industry leaders from across the aesthetics and wellness space.

From Conference Floor to Awards Night

The day closed with an Awards Dinner at 12-Micron Barangaroo, recognising excellence across the derma aesthetics partner network. The shift in venue and tone gave the day a strong finish, moving delegates from a full day of learning into a night of celebration, connection and recognition among clinics and partners.

The Outcome

Delegate feedback was strongly positive across the board. The conference overall was rated 4.45 out of 5, and 95% said they were very likely to attend a future derma aesthetics conference. W Sydney was rated with 95% rating it Good or Excellent, and the Awards Dinner at 12-Micron Barangaroo was rated with 91% rating it Good or Excellent and 100% rating the awards presentation and programme itself Very Good or Excellent. Delegates consistently pointed to the quality of the education content and the sense of community across the derma aesthetics network as the standout of the day.
