The Event
To mark an extraordinary milestone, On Purpose Events was engaged under the OP Events Group to produce Microsoft’s 50th Birthday Celebration at the Australian headquarters in Sydney.
The event brought to life five decades of innovation – from floppy disks to the future of cloud power – in a high-energy, nostalgic, and joy-filled experience for Microsoft’s people.
Guests tuned into a global broadcast from Redmond, USA, hosted by Brenda Song, featuring a once-in-a-decade moment: Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer, and Satya Nadella together on stage for the first time in 11 years.
Back on home soil, the Sydney celebration was designed to mirror that sense of legacy and excitement. The event combined interactive games, immersive tech-inspired styling, and delicious eats, including a crowd favourite — the next-level chocolate waffles by Waffly.
Every detail paid homage to Microsoft’s evolution, celebrating not only the technology but the people who have driven it — past, present, and future.
